The project began nearly one year ago when our dedicated STEAM educators envisioned an opportunity to better connect classroom learning with real-world applications. Through their efforts, and with the generous support of a Battelle grant focused on K–12 STEAM initiatives Fredericktown Local Schools is now home to the first Manufacturing and Engineering Lab of its kind in Knox County.

This innovative learning space represents a significant investment in workforce development, career readiness, and regional economic growth. Designed to provide students with hands-on experiences aligned to manufacturing, engineering, and applied technologies, the lab will help prepare students with the skills and competencies needed to succeed in today’s and tomorrow’s workforce.

This program is intentionally designed to grow into a regional resource, strengthening established partnerships between education, business and industry, and community stakeholders throughout Knox County and the surrounding area.
