Concert Night for the Community (CES Credit Union)

The Third Annual Concert Night for the Community hosted by CES Credit Union featuring top regional performing bands McGuffey Lane and Allison Road is set for Saturday, September 13 at the Schnormeier Event Center at Ariel Foundation Park, 201 S. Norton St. (next to the Rastin Tower) in Mount Vernon, Ohio. This event is free and open to the community.

Opening the evening at 6:30pm is Allison Road, a female-fronted band from Springfield, Ohio that plays upbeat and current Country hits, with Rock, Classic Rock, and Pop for a good variety. Their original music, while maintaining a country feel, toes the line of all 3 genres and is written from the real-life experiences of frontwoman, Alli Sarven.  Performing since 2012, Allison Road has opened for Lainey Carter, Ashley Cooke, and Deana Carter and has won multiple music competitions including Best Band in Springfield (2022) and 92.3 WCOL Winner – Rt. 4 Farm Tour. They regularly perform in venues and street festivals across Central and Western Ohio including Summit Music Hall and PBR Cowboy Bar in Columbus.

Then, at 8pm, one of the Midwest’s most popular bands over the last five decades, McGuffey Lane, takes the Schnormeier stage. Featuring original members John Schwab, Terry Efaw, and Steve Reis plus Molly Pauken, Randy Huff, and Kevin Reed, the band is known for exceptional musicianship and vocal harmonies on both their high-energy music and their beautiful ballads. Their live shows are always entertaining and, attesting to their popularity over the years, attract not only long-time fans but now even their grandchildren. McGuffey Lane has shared a stage with many nationally known artists including the Allman Brothers Band, The Judds, Exile, The Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels, and Pure Prairie League. The band has released several albums and has sold over 300,000 units since they signed with Atlantic Records. Their hit single, “Long Time Lovin’ You,” spent six weeks at number one on the charts and earned the band a much-deserved regional gold record.
