DESCRIPTION:The "Downtown Rock Around" will take place on the final Saturday in November in correlation with Small Business Saturday. Founded by American Express in 2010\, Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses and communities across the country. In partnership with the Mount Vernon Music and Arts Festival and the City of Mount Vernon\, Main Street Mount Vernon looks to create a day full of family activities at select businesses downtown\, while at the same time creating excitement for the upcoming holiday season. The square lighting ceremony\, sponsored by Park National Bank\, will take place at 5:30pm and immediately following\, the Mount Vernon Music and Arts Festival will present a special holiday set from a local musician. \n\nMain Street Mount Vernon is in close contact with Knox Public Health and is working on the best plan to keep our community safe for the Downtown Rock Around on Saturday\, November 28. From 10am to 5pm\, participating downtown merchants will have child friendly holiday themed ideas to complete in store\, or to take and complete at home. After completing your downtown holiday shopping\, head to the square at 5:30pm for a special lighting ceremony sponsored by Park National Bank\, followed by a holiday set from a local musician.\n\nWe ask that all attendees practice social distancing while downtown\, and wear masks if you are inside or within six feet of others not from the same household.
